He is a repeat winner of every major U.S. swing dance title, including American Lindy Hop Championship (8 times), U.S. Open (4 times), National Jitterbug (4 times), and Grand National Championship (3 times).
He has appeared in many film and television productions including Mona Lisa Smile with Julia Roberts, The Polar Express with Tom Hanks, The Today Show, Entertainment Tonight and So You Think You Can Dance.
More than just a competitor and performer, Yuval is also a dedicated teacher, committed to spreading the joy of swing dance throughout the world. He also spends an average of 40 weekends per year on the road, teaching swing dancers on six continents. His ability to make complex concepts easy to understand has helped him coach beginner-level dancers into national champions. In 2005, he produced his first set of instructional DVDs, a four-disk set titled Swing Dance Basics. His proficiency in five languages— English, French, Spanish, Hebrew and Portuguese— makes him among the most sought-after dance teachers in the world.
First introduced to the world of swing in Baltimore and Washington, DC during 2005, Juls moved to New York City and joined the Hop Swing school in 2007. She has been studying dance and partner aerials under Yuval Hod ever since. With teaching in her blood, she naturally graduated to traveling with Yuval around the world, instructing students with his unique techniques and knowledge of body movement. In addition to teaching, Jul enjoys performing— with experience in corporate events, weddings, commercials, and films. Currently residing in Miami, Florida, she helped spearhead the transition of Hop Swing to All Swing Productions, which opened it’s Miami doors in 2013.
